'DOG THING' - 'rescue' advertising on preloved

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was trawling dogs on preloved asking people offering their pets to be rehomed for free to remove them from Preloved & I came across a dogs wanted advert from something called Dogthing. They claim to be a Sheffield based rescue specialising in old & sick dogs that no other rescue centres will take on. The contact number is 07850837455. I tried calling but got no answer.

Has anyone ever heard of them? Are they genuine? Just seems a bit dodgy to me.

This is the ad:

Never heard of them.....the fact that they don't accept bull breeds makes me see them in a bit of a better light. If they were after dogs for bait they would take anything. Still seems a bit odd though

Or could be a clever way of making them seem sound.

If you click on the map at side of the add they are in North Anston.

Yep, maybe some of the more established rescues should contact them and network with them? Glad you flagged it up though FOREST, did look dodgy from the limited info in the ad

I have contact with The ladies of Borneholme & I can say they are completely authentic, my mom has adopted well I should say one of their rescues adopted her & have been to their premises. They do tend to go for the elderly dogs, the ones with problems that would normally be overlooked. The main reason I believe that they request no bull breeds is that the dogs aren't kept in kennels but in their own home, which helps them have a sample of family life.

Hope this answers any concerns
