Yes i remember Dougie he would cut my hair!! when he was sober:!!! that's why i had long hair, seem to remember that he took over from his father,he was a good laugh though.

 

He was that,did they call his wife Barbara?

Dont know if his wife was called Barbara or even if he was married rf2690!! i was only 15 years old at the time that i lived on Carlile road, so only knew him from being around the area, i would frequently see him in the Crown albeit i wasn't old enough to drink,bumped into him several years later in the Hen & Chicken in town,didn't know that he had a barbers shop on Park Hill though jane2008.

Went to doug nadins when i was 14ish for my hair cut,then started to grow it longer !! used to knock about with his eldest son nigel,one day nigel fell off of a wall that overlooked our yard(bottom of botham street) caught his arm on a wall hook ,blood everywhere.My mum rapped it in a towel and i took him down to doug .He took one look and fainted:roll:.The guy who was having his hair cut ended up taking nigel to the hospital .

Was on the corner of Sharp st and opposite was Dougie Nadins barbers.

Not sure Bri if Dougie is still alive but he must be well in his 80s if he is.Yes i'm well love hope you are.If we could only go back to Hunsley st.

I lived near Joe and Kath Harrison, nee Hutchinson, when they lived on Wincobank Lane. I think Kath's parents ran the Alex in the 60's.

 

Dougie Nadin used to cut my hair, my Nan lived on Moss Street, I'd go down to Dougie's from her house.

Dougie passed away quite a while ago. Sorry I can't be specific but I think maybe 10/15 years ago.

Yes it was up some steps across from Dempseys clothes shop

Dougie use to cut my hair when he was on sharp st, he liked his drinks

and fags, Dougie was a right laugh. i'am not sure if he lived somewhere

near Herries Rd at one time.
