wednesday1   10 #649 Posted October 6, 2012 Mittens Romney or Backtrack Quobama? Vote Quobama, he's the lesser of two evils.  Plus he has an attractive wife, that's got to be a factor surely?    "Out of the nursery into the college and back to the nursery". Oh Ray, you were as good a prophet as you were a writer.  Yes, vote for the photogenic autocue reader and keep wonder why the world carries on turning to s***.   Is that David Ickes view on things or yours? wednesday1 Â Â 10 #650 Posted October 6, 2012 he was more than that last week, 2-9. Romney has also moved, to around 11-4. The polls have definitely moved in Romney's favour, ominously for Obama Ohio in particular where last week he led by over 6 or 7 points, he is now only 2 or 3 up. And the full impact of the debates on the polls won't be felt for another day or two. They do have an effect, the debates. Â Â Still has a healthy lead then, hopefully he will be more up for it in the remaining debates. Can't imagine how demoralising a Romney victory would be for many! Harleyman   12 #651 Posted October 6, 2012 what would have been the left wing of the conservative party were pretty much driven out by Thatcher and the few that survived her purges have been driven out by her successors. tony blair and his chums took labour rightwards and they essentially became the left wing of the conservative party.  is there anything wrong with "one nation" anyway?  Which in retrospect made some sense since far left Socialism is as bad and unworkable as far right Conservatism
 Share this content via...

Can't imagine how demoralising a Romney victory would be for many!I think Obama will be a lot better prepared for the next debate. I think he was looking for an attack point which never materialized. Romney is all talk and no substance. I would hope the American public would see that, but can't be sure. A good many Americans have already voted in States that allow it before the debate. Connecticut is unfortunately not one of them. We have a woman called Linda McMahon running for senator in CT. She and her husband own the WWE wrestling organization, and are richer than God. She has poured mor than $50 million into this campaign. She tried it once before at the last senate election and failed miserably against the State Attorney General. She and her daughter have appeared in porn acts at wrestling matches which put women down. But she is leading against her challenger, even among women voters. Go Figure. callippo   10 #655 Posted October 6, 2012 Obama's performance in the debate was appalling. It was the worst anybody has ever seen.  it's true there wasn't a clincher sound bite that everyone will remember like in some other debates, but the overall physical impression was really bad, and that is worse. He's toast if he doesn't raise his game in the next debate.  Romney's gained points. That's obvious. He's the one with the momentum now. It looks like it's going to be really close, closer than I thought it would be. I thought it would be like 2004, close but you still knew who was going to win. But it's not going to be like 2004. It's going to be more llike 2000.
 Share this content via...
bazrippa   10 #656 Posted October 6, 2012 There was something lacking in Obama's performance in the debate last night. Too often it seemed that Obama was on the defensive. Romney came across as the wiinner on that one but despite his better performance that doesnt change what he really is Yes.. Important issues being covered, plus do the maths on the deficit plans and you will see that it is still HUGE and supported only by FIAT currency that thoughout history has never ended in anything but collapse.. Harleyman   12 #657 Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) I'm beginning to think that Presidential debates are turning into some kind of giant farce. At lunchtime I was watching one of the cable news channels analyzing the various facial expressions of the two candidates during the debate. Points were awarded for Romney's eyebrow and mouth movements. Could it be that Romney might win on such matters. Do Presidential candidates have to be movie actors as well as politicians?  I suppose this is nothing new since Nixon lost to Kennedy in a Presidential debate because of his beetling eyebrowns, five o'clock shadow and perspiring under those nasty old bright camera lights  Just imagine if TV had been around in George Washington's time? Poor old George wouldnt have srood a chance with his wooden set of teeth  Considering also that each candiate is spending billions on this campaign it's all becoming something right out of whacko land Edited October 6, 2012 by Harleyman
 Share this content via...

Ours went up from 3.99 dollars a gallon just over a week ago to 4.59 dollars a gallon today.  The manipulative, greedy oil bestards rake in the profits while Presidents shoulder the blame.  Crazy world ! bazrippa   10 #660 Posted October 6, 2012 No need to pray!! It will collapse, it has to collapse but theoretically the US will be the last to go as they will continue to print all the worthless digital cash they need.. Personally I think the rest of the world will drop the dollar as the reserve currency and the US government will fall flat on their faces, unfortunately the public will suffer... In all honesty I hope that this won't happen but if either statler or Waldorf get in office it will happen 100%...
 Share this content via...
