becj28 Â Â 10 #3 Posted October 1, 2012 Thanks Gary and Mickey for getting back to me. I am just enquiring before i take a scraper to the room and clear it to then discover i cant afford the work doing. Mickey the room could be cleared apart from the laminate floor. Thanks again :-)
 Share this content via...
telman   10 #4 Posted October 1, 2012 For a reskim you will need to get rid if the wallpaper and chop the old plaster off. This will be a dirty job and will ruin your floor unless taken up. You can't skim to paper. Get out the bolster chisel.
 Share this content via...
gaze1981 Â Â 10 #5 Posted October 1, 2012 Does a reskim not go straight over the existing plaster? Â (Sorry to jump in on your thread becj28, but I'm looking to have the same kind of work done!)
 Share this content via...

You can't skim to paper. Get out the bolster chisel.  You dont need to remove plasetr for a reskim, but yu do need a clean surface with plenty of PVA rolled on.Why cant the flor be sheeted for protection-most good plasterers will save the floor.
