md00071 Â Â 10 #25 Posted September 24, 2012 I was similar to you at that age. Then I got my first job, and realised pretty soon that work is where most friends are made. The first bloke I spoke to on my first day at work was my Best Man 15 years later. Don't worry about it, seriously. It'll change. BritishProud   10 #26 Posted September 24, 2012 Mention football, darts and snooker to girls and its usually Goodnight Vienna. Cut the crap and try dating sites, could save you a load of time and wasted nights.  Join a local footy team pal, or get involved with your local pub snooker team and pool team. start posting on here and get into deebates, you will make some friends that way. Mr Tibbs   10 #28 Posted September 24, 2012 Finding friends will either happen or it wont. I think it is down to your personality. I had friends as a teenager but as soon as girl friends came along we went our ways. Then I got a job with the local authority and met some real nice people. We socialised until again they met with girls and we went our way although we do send each other Christmas cards and may bump into each other on our travels and catch up with time.  I met my wife at 19 and married at 22. Best pal I have ever had (apart from my Labrador). I have a small family and prefer it that way. As to wanting friends? no, to much of a let down in the past and although I will help a friend I would never expect help back and would never ask for it.  Like someone above said, I have acquaintances and prefer it that way. old cossack   10 #30 Posted September 24, 2012 Why not take up an hobby like model making or Urbexing? Why do I say this you could start a group with theses hobbies and make friends that way there only examples. Or you could try the pub at the bottom of the Moor.
