valentine   10 #5 Posted January 12, 2006 I did a YTS course in 1985/1986 I really enjoyed it and never felt like I was being ripped off or conned. I think I was one of the luckier ones, I know some who were just used as cheap labour.  Although I loved my placement, I hated the 1 day a week training and would do anything to get out of it.  (It was SYSTA if anyone remembers it)
 Share this content via...

martss   10 #11 Posted June 7, 2006 I went on a YTS after leaving school ('88 - '89), £27.50 a week plus travel expenses. For the first week I used 4 busses a day instead of 2 to claim a bit more.  I was at the EITB on Petre Street, gave me a good start. I was there 18 months then went on an apprenticeship and doubled my wages.
 Share this content via...
