anniec   10 #7 Posted September 8, 2012 This has happened to my kindle today as well. I've had it 18 months and I use it daily. I'm gutted I need to replace it.  I'm going to try it on with Amazon though as I can give them the details of 5 different people who've all had their kindles replaced (within warranty) over the past 6 weeks for this exact issue. It must therefore be a manufacturing defect!
 Share this content via...

But if as Mandem says you hold the slider across for a few seconds it turns off completely and the screen blanks. Worth a try? anniec   10 #9 Posted September 8, 2012 you need to hold it for a minimum of 20 seconds then it takes a couple of minutes (sometimes) to come back on. Don't be alarmed.
 Share this content via...
