Hartley Family History!

Hi Ya Sheffield Forum,

 

I am trying to do my family history and i wish to know more about my Grandmothers family, her name was Doris Hartley ( Born 1921 ) ( Died 1976 ).

 

Doris married a Jack Holt ( Born 1910 ) in 1942, her parents were - William Henry Hartley ( Born 1887 ) ( Died 1920 ) & Ruth A Holmes ( Born 1893 ).

 

Any information or links the forum can give me will be gratefully recieved.

Hi Jamesh20 - William and Ruth's marriage entry of Jan-Mar 1915 is in the index. William's parents were evidently George and Teresa Hartley of 67 Duke Street Lane, and Ruth's parents could have been the Lincolnshire-born James and Amelia Holmes, though this seems less certain. Perhaps you have this information but PM me an email address if you'd like me to look further and/or if you'd like scans of census return entries etc..
