Unmanned aircraft (Drones) may become a regular feature over the UK

What a paranoid lot you all are. The article clearly states the commercial benefits but all you lot can see is "1984".

Commercial benefits? Which commercial benefits are they then, beneficial for whom?

Why don't you read the article and then post the points you still don't see or understand.

If that's aimed at me, what makes you think I haven't? Have you ever heard of the term, "Reading through the lines?"

So why did you not see the commercial benefits mentioned in the article?

Or do you not realise that drones are lighter, smaller, cheaper, more fuel efficient to do the roles that light aircraft and helicopters traditionally do?

I'm surprised Shami Chakrabati hasn't had something to say about it being in contravention of our human rights.

Oh wait...it's not high profile enough and not money in it!

Wow just think of all the vitally important law enforcement this could be used for:

Dog fouling

People smoking in the wrong place

People putting their bins out too early

People stopping on double yellow lines at 6am to run into a paper shop to get the newspaper

People parked slightly over the white lines in public car parks

Speeding marginally over the limit

Council bosses and police chiefs must be absolutely wetting themselves with excitement at the prospect of this new revenue stream.

I suspect a drone would be a lot cheaper and economical to maintain and operate than the force helicopter.
