Bypassblade   10 #4 Posted August 15, 2012 Hmmm...will have a look, see what i've done wrong!  Try it now...      Enjoyed them Billy, brings back memories, also watched that "Made in Sheffield" all 25 minutes. What went wrong? mind it was nice to watch a video that had not been put together just to pander to the PC brigade, making sure everyone from every culture got on it, they just filmed normal people going about their business doesn't matter what colour they are/were. handypandy   14 #7 Posted August 15, 2012 The scary thing is, I remember quite a few of the 'before' photos !  One thing that was interesting on a personal level is that, in the 4th selection, there is a photo of the Ball Inn on Main Rd in Darnall and also a pic of the 'Maypole' grocery shop in Darnall centre. Now, when my father was 14/15 yrs old, he worked in that Maypole and in his dinner hour would pop round to the Ball Inn, where the landlord would allow him to do his piano practice. One afternoon he was spotted by a music hall act and offered a place on a concert party theatre tour, subject to getting his parents consent.  He was subsequently late back to the shop after lunch and the manager said he should make his mind up whether he wanted the job or did he want music? Dad said, " Music, thanks" ....... and walked out. So began his professional music career.  Until I saw these pics, I never really knew where that Maypole was. Dad would never tire of telling us that he, "......worked sixty hours a week there, for twelve and a tanner..."  So.... thanks for the heads up on this one.
