catmiss   12 #1 Posted August 10, 2012 Does anyone know of any pattern booklets of premature baby cardies. I've got the three Sirdar ones and a King Cole book but I'm knitting about 25 a month and getting bored using the same patterns. I've 'imported' some standard patterns into prem sizing but am fairly limited to small stitch pattern repeats to work with prem sizes, can't use lacy patterns (little fingers can get caught in even the smallest holes)and am craving something different. I love to knit aran, fairisle & colour repeats and find stocking stitch boring unless it's got interesting shaping. Anyone got any suggestions? catmiss   12 #5 Posted August 25, 2012 I've got a few dolls patterns but I knit a range of sizes and some aren't suitable for tiny babies-lacy patterns, ribbons etc. Thanks for all the suggestions-I've found a couple of new books that look really interesting
 Share this content via...
Thunderbox   10 #6 Posted August 26, 2012 Have you had a look if there are any knitting patterns for dolls. It may sound daft but when my niece was born 11 weeks prem, she looked like a little doll. The doll size may well fit a very small baby.
 Share this content via...

Miss Tryphena   10 #8 Posted August 28, 2012 Doll patterns don't tend to be in the same proportions as premature babies so you are better off sticking to prem baby patterns if you can.
 Share this content via...
