bassett-boys
So a far of highly talented young strikers are now on the books at Bramall Lane, one on a two year permanent deal and the other on loan for the season. Let's push the clock back to 1988 to an under-rated but highly talented 19-20 year old striker who joined us from Doncaster Rovers to join a lad who Harry brought up from Watford who was still to hit the spotlight professionally having played non-league for most of his career up to that point. All Blades know the words "Brian Deane and Tony Agana.........." Of course we all know what these two brought to the club, the memorable games together including the much talked about hat trick each against Chester that pretty much launched the partnership into hero status. Up the leagues we marched with many thanks to most definitely the best strike pairing Sheffield United F.C have ever seen and up to now it is to be replicated. So what about young Cofie and Blackman? They have a point to prove, both are desperate to carve a name for themselves in professional football and should they pair eachother they will be in the same boat as Deane and Agana all those years ago. But can they gain the understanding or eachother and strike up a a partnership half as good??? We can only hope!

Ousetunes
That's an awful lot to live up to! Our pair of black pearls were amazing; Deane's aggressiveness and Agana's silky skills. And what made them so special - particularly in Deane's case - was seeing them with rough edges and lack of confidence at the beginning become the division's most terrorising strike-force. And we had back up with John Francis who was a regular sub. Oh for those days!!

CorkerSWFC
Could do with one or the other playing not both, experience is key in league 1...

I expect he'll start with Porter and one other anyway... at least until Porter returns to his standard (poor) form of most of last season... Gonna be a lot of pressure on that lad this season, especially if Cresswell leaves for pastures new...
