Derby County V The Owls 18/8/12

Recommended Posts

Derby County V The Mighty Sheffield Wednesday.

English Championi-ship.

1500 hours Saturday 18th August 2012.

The match at Derby will be no walk in the park, even for The Mighty Owls.

Wednesday have played nine league games at Pride Park but have only won once, in April 2006.

Derby at home will be a stiff challenge for any visiting side. They finished 12th last season and Manager Nigel Clough has since made some good signings, including: Michael Jacobs, Paul Coutts and Richard Keogh.

Wednesday will be very Mighty if they collect 3 points at Derby.

50 points is their first target of the season - the target for Championi-ship survival.

Kilmarnock 1-4 Mighty Wednesday

is the kind of result needed at Derby.

As most of you lot know, I'm an expert on football . . .

. . . second only to Paul Thompson of The Sheffield Star.

My prediction is a goalfest at Derby.

I also predict a riot. (I gave Ricky Wilson that idea).

Was a pretty strong team out against Scunthorpe as well so shocked to see them concede that many, I rate the young lad Fielding who plays in goal for Derby usually and with the likes of Keogh and Coutt's in front of him they shouldn't have been conceding like that so it should give Wednesday a bit of a boost.

See Tyson started up front, am I right in saying he's knocked you lot back twice? Would be nice to see our former Jamie Ward up front knocking one in against you for United :hihi:

I thoroughly expect Derby County to struggle this year, not based on the Scunthorpe result but on the fact they lack any sort of real quality except the odd one or two above average players, therefore I am going for a Away win.

Whilst some fans are deluded that you are MIGHTY, I cannot see anything other than an away win on Saturday I'm going for 1-3, can't name scorers as I don't know any of your players

Sorry you'll have a long bloody wait. :)

I fully understand.

On reflection, that's probably a wise Owl decision . . .

. . . most former unitedites do find it difficult to handle such a large

amount of excitement (rather than excrement) in one 90 minute session.

Could be a goalfest if the defending this week is anything to go by! Could be top game on Football league show (if it's still on this season?).
