Lord Irvines Pay Rise

Recommended Posts

Lord Irvine apparently recently received a pay rise of 12.6%. This is an increase of more than 4 times inflation and makes his annual salary over 200k.

What I don't understand is the recent Speech that Gordon Brown made about Improvements in Public Sector pay must be linked to productivity. So we have NHS workers, Teachers and Armed Forces etc possibly getting an increase from 2.9% to 3.7%. Why doesn't these same principles apply to MP's like Irvine and other Fat Cat bosses?

Lord Irvine should be restricted to the pay rise of every other worker in this country,it is the only fair way. Why should he be allowed to have double the rate of inflation, because he is no more use to this economy than any other worker, despite the comic garb he wears.

In fact, he is not as usefull as a plumber, carpenter, bus driver or any other worker for that matter and as for the luxury and splendour he lives in, that is outrageous he should be made to live like the rest of us, who does he think he is?

These so called intellectuals, seem to think they are a cut above everyone else, and some kind of super human being, which is nonsense they make more mistakes than any of us. Cut their salary,I say, not increase it.

Halevan you seen to have a habit of fishing through old messages that have not been replied to and adding your views. Good, I like that.
