The whole Olympics 2012 has far exceeded my expectations, all good from start to finish - A splendid show.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. What is wrong with the city of my birth? I remember it as a place that loved a bit of fun such as these Olympics. It must be just SF that has to moan and groan about everything today.

I didn't see the closing ceremony and I did contrive to miss most of the events , but to describe the finale as "Bad Karaoke sung by Drunken Hair Dressers on a night out" is most amusing. For those with a mild case of Olypium poisoning what is the cure? For contestants with severe cases unfortunately they are doomed.

I didn't atually watch ANY of the games, just what I caught on the news or whatever but I've cheered along with everyone else when I have.

The opening and closing ceremonies however were a different thing and I watched both. All the people that didn't enjoy it are far and away outnumbered by the ones that did and I was no exception. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Great show, aside from Ray Davies and Liam Gallagher and of course the Spice Girls.

Has it finished? try the telling the BBC, they are like a dog with a bone, a bit of advice to all the band wagon merchants, just give it time you'll get over it. Saddo's.

I thought the closing ceremony was like a tired kid with ADHD playing with his Dad's iPod. Little snippets of random songs, with random things linked together in equally random ways.

I reached the point of Russell Brand (who I actually like) standing on top of a pyschedelic bus singing a song from Willy Wonka - then I went to bed. I can only presume the rest of the show featured Anne Widdecombe in a hot air baloon singing a song from Lion King, then an alien popped out of her belly and recreated a scene from Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

That's a good point Chris. There were times when the party was flowing well and suddenly stopped dead - like the last medals ceremony for example, or the bit with the flag handover or Seb Coe.

You see, I have the same feeling about seeing 22 men charging about like pregnant fairies after a ball on a football pitch but accept that it's their choice. so let them get on with it along with their fans. You have to accept that we all like different things and if we were all of the same mind, then life would be extremely boring.

I'm not sure how the current population is relevant to an event that's over 100 years old?
