The Olympic Games MEGATHREAD

Recommended Posts

The games havn't got off to a very good start with the organisers having to apologise to the Koreans for displaying the wrong flag, creating a one hour delay before the women's football could begin.Lets hope they do better in London. :hihi:

Who is checking the security company ?. The man in charge of 4GS doesn't look to give us confidence, a hair cut and designer specs might give a better image but we now need the Armed Forces and extra Police but what do we expect when the only quoted about £450 million to end up crap.

A genuine mistake most likely. Done on the first day It's likely it won't happen again. Mistakes do happen. Such sensitivity over a flag.

As I said, hopefully non. A mistake right at the beginning might just kick the organizers into double/triple checking.

I suspect this topic could be rather epic.

First balls-up of the olympic games.

South Korean flag displayed instead of North Korean flag at yesterdays ladies football match in Scotland.

The North Korean team walked off in disgust....

As they say...Ya couldn't make it up..

Plenty of people will be willing to post any negatives and ignore the positives.

Well done to our Ladies football team for winning their first ever game in the Olympics.

Particularly when it's the flag of a nation with which you are technically at war!

Should a British athlete be standing on the podium about to receive a gold medal and should the band strike up with 'La Marseillaise' do you think anybody would complain?

There can be no excuse (other than 'We're not very bright and we didn't know the difference between North Korea and South Korea)

It was a complete ****-up and reflects badly on the organisers.

Any other countries might not have raised such a stir, but it was North Korea & they showed South Korea's flag. The hatred there is unrivaled & technically, they are STILL at war, so basically it is a mess up of the HIGHEST degree.
