scoobz
Sunday 29th July – Hathersage-Dore A linear walk of 9.5 miles starting from Hathersage and finishing at Dore station. To get to the start of the walk it will be necessary to leave your car at Dore station, and catch a train from there to Hathersage. Alternatively it is possible to catch the same train in Sheffield, and to return to Sheffield from Dore at the end of the walk by train again. Equally it will also be possible to start the walk from Hathersage, and return there by train at the end of the walk! The walk takes us from Hathersage along the river to Grindleford and then via Padley Gorge, Burbage Rocks, Ringinglow and the Limb valley to Dore. A total of 9.5 miles along good tracks, bridleways and field paths. Details:- Meet at Dore station on Abbeydale Road at 9.20 to catch the 9.27 train. (The train leaves Sheffield Midland station at 9.20). If for some reason anyone wants to join us at Hathersage, the train gets there at 9.38. New walkers welcome, but booking is essential. scoobz
Smashing walk today, and lovely walking weather too. It was strange on top of Burbage to see rain in the near distance, but then to get none! 2 cafes and a pub were well used much to the surprise of all the new walkers who turned up.
