lazarus
Is it really worth it? dogs have been complained about for gods knows how long, the rule did state on your rental agreement no pets especially in maisonettes and one bedroom flats and what happens the first thing tenants do is move a dog or two in BUT now they can have them as long as they dont cause a nuiscence! I considers dog mess everywhere a nuiscence. Tenants ruin perfectly good properties and sheffield Homes dont do anything, rubbish is thrown anywhere and once again Sheffield Homes dont do anything about the cause they just remove it. Idiots and druggies are given properties and ruin the quality of life of the decent people who live near them. You can air all youre worrys but nothing changes, ive been to meetings and some of the issues raised have been denied by the hierarchy at sheffield homes. Ms Macbeth
Things might improve if there is lots of support for the volunteers in the TARA. Those are people who give up their own time to try and make their estate better. Sheffield Homes only have management responsibility until April next year, when all council housing in Sheffield goes back to being managed by the council. Perhaps its now the right time to make your views known! SnifferDog, I hope you get a good turn out and have a successful meeting.
SnifferDog
Lazarus, I understand your comments and empathise with you, but don't give into apathy. re your comments about Dog's mess you're right it is a nuisance, flag it to your local wardens. Responsible dog owners will clear up after their dogs. Re druggies/nuisance neighbours, I received total support from Sheffield Homes Anti Social Team when I had a problem. All I can say to you is, you may feel you're not being heard, but you will be, sadly things don't/can't change overnight, but never ever give up voicing your views on what you believe in ~I know I don't and I assure you Sheffield Homes & Sheffield City Council are well aware of that fact :-) Ms Macbeth, thank you for your comments, you're right GV TARA is run by volunteers, who give up a lot of their time, daytime and evenings to attend things on behalf of the Tenants & Residents ~ they're not paid to go to meetings, they don't claim expenses back, everything is voluntarily done.
