Sheffield Silver plate tankard

Recommended Posts

Hi all, Im Joe.

I bought this tankard yesterday, but I would like some information on it.

So far I have found out that it was made by James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield before 1879.

I believe that it is Silver plate.

Here are some pictures:

I hope this link is okay, and that it works. If not, I am very sorry. I did'nt know how to put pictures on any other way:)

Thanks, any suggestions would be great.

Joe

It is Silver Plate and the way the marks are put on is meant to mis-lead as they look very much like Sterling Silver marks.
