Waldo
So far you get the £15 no matter where you purchase from. Effectively makes this a £175 device rather than a £190 one. What do you need to do to get it? I haven't got mine yet.
Trickle
You switch it on. It asks for your gmail address. It gives it 15 squid. Apparently you have to have a card attached to the gmail, but I've paid for stuff on Google play before.

Apparently you have to have a card attached to the gmail, but I've paid for stuff on Google play before. Not in my case. I had my Google account already linked with the device, when it arrived from Google (there was an option for this, when ordering from Google). I made a purchase on Google Play, using my debit card, thinking this would trigger the £15 credit to go in to my Google account (possibly as another payment method, for my Google Wallet?). No such look. Tried to contact Google about it. No response. Haven't received any instructions regarding how to get the credit.
Cyclone
So far you get the £15 no matter where you purchase from. Effectively makes this a £175 device rather than a £190 one. It's a £199 device, I've not seen anywhere selling it for £190. But yeah, I should still get the google credit, and I also got 10% off, making it a £165 device. Trickle
Everywhere had 5% discount codes (hotdealsuk etc) at the time of the pre-orders for all the usual suspects - Tesco, Currys, Ebuyer and so on. Quite possibly no longer available due to demand... or the return rates, or people using ebay/amazon these days to buy accessories for this type of device - where Currys make their bigger margins. Longcol
Just ordered the Nexus 7 as it seems the ideal device for our camping holiday in France. Because of the proliferation of wi-fi hotspots we usually take the laptop but it is rather big to lug about and takes up a good proportion of the table in the tent or at a cafe. And of course it isn't very practical to use on a sunlounger. We had considered a netbook but IMHO the processer and display definition on the Nexus are far superior. Will be using it for a bit of surfing, e-mail, music player, downloading pics from the camera etc - and will be tempted by the odd film or game if we get a bit of inclement weather. Back at home I'll be able to do a lot of things I usually do at the desk from the comfort of my favourite armchair
AlexAtkin
On the contrary, a basic dual-core Atom Netbook is VASTLY superior in processing power to ANY ARM based tablet, period. However the Nexus 7 is a lot more portable, easier to use (unless you need to do a lot of typing) and likely has far more games that will run well on it due to its similarity to Android phones. However for rendering complex web pages or anything CPU intensive, a Netbook will kick its arse.

1080P
If money was no object why would you care about the resale potential? If you get bored of it there is always someone else wanting an ipad unlike a nexus something or other
Bonjon
If you get bored of it there is always someone else wanting an ipad unlike a nexus something or other I suppose that's why there are nexus 7's selling for more than rrp on eBay? Nexus 7 is the biggest selling 7" tab for a reason, it blows any competition out of the water. Plus an iPad will probably depreciate more than it actually costs to buy a nexus 7.
