IPad or Nexus 7

One of my mates just sent his back, I can't see what it offers that makes it worth 2* the nexus 7 price... And I'm fairly sure that google will be launching a 10"+ tablet probably within a year, if it's priced as well as the 7 then I might well get a nexus 10 (or whatever it's called) when it's launched.

I suspect that I'll mainly use the 7 around the house for browsing the web and checking my emails, and maybe take it with me when I'm catching the tram somewhere or am forced to go to meadowhell.

If money was no object, I still wouldn't have an iPad.

I'd have a Transformer Prime.

Like I said, my ideal tablet is the Microsoft Surface Pro as I already have a convertible tablet/laptop, but its too heavy, bulky and top heavy.

However looking at the specs on that tablet I would be STUNNED if it doesn't cost something silly like £1000. No way I could afford that.

That said, with those specs I could happy use it as my day to day PC too.

One really naff thing about the Nexus 7 (well, really Android in general), is if you're using Google Apps for Email; you can't get access your Email (or any Google services on your google apps account domain) on an android device without upgrading your Google Apps account to 'business' (which means forking out £££ each month).

What's Apps for Email? Something other than gmail?

I use quite a few addresses, including one for my business where I point the domain at google, and I can access them all on my phone.

I am using "Google Apps" for my Email, meaning that I have mx records setup so Emails received on my domain are routed to Google's Email servers. You have for example, me@mydomain.com and you can access it though the Gmail web interface, and on most mobile devices as Gmail (without the gmail.com domain).

Still possible to setup using POP3 or IMAP manually as Alex suggest, it's just kind of ironic, how on Apple devices you can just enter your Email address, and it picks it up straight away and recognises it as Gmail. While on Android devices, it sends you down the garden path, and has you over a barrel of upgrade your google apps account, or we'll make life harder for you.
