Bloomdido
Should still serve decent fodder, and look presentable. I wouldn't squeeze a log out on someones brekky plate just because i was on min wage....... I have only ever had coffee and chips in veggie gravy in the Handsworth Asda cafe. I agree, it should be decent but it clearly isn't. If they invested more in it, then it would be servicable but the price ould go up. Perhaps people are content paying very little for barely servicable food.
spartacus
Asda's cafe is run by a private company. Asda just provide the roof, floor and walls. Or so I'm told.

English breakfast is £5 so it is not that cheap, it's not that difficult to serve a decently presented meal this is by far the worst place I have ever been for a breakfast. Barely cooked bacon covered in fat, sausage that tastes like it comes off the perfume counter, mushrooms floating in water all over the plate, cold beans slapped on the plate followed by an egg you need a jack hammer to dip into and to top it of the lot is barely warm. Back to the bowl of cheerios, boiled egg, wholewheat toast and fresh orange today.
sheffbag
Get down to Banners, about 5 min from Handsworth asda, for a breakfast there
Mandem
What do you expect when they pay the minimum wage? If you want proper food, go to a restaurant and not Walmart. They may only be on the minimum wage, but that is no excuse. They have a job, which they obviously applied for, if they aren't happy to do the job, leave, and let someone else who wants a job work there. There is no excuse for unprofessional service, no matter what.

alchresearch
You're lucky. All my local Asdas took out the cafes and put in mini McDonalds instead.

GrapeApe
I decided to try a breakfast at Asda handsworth this morning, BIG mistake. Worst service I have ever had. Shocking food [English Breakfast] Stood with my tray like Oliver Twist for ten minutes until anyone of the three women behind the counter decided to serve anyone, then she just slapped it all on the plate and lobbed an egg on the top. Anyway without going on in a nutshell 0 out 10. How did they respond to your complaint?
