Should Rio Ferdinand be charged with racism?

Recommended Posts

On the contrary often things said in anger reveal the true intent and soul of the person.

Even if the person was reacting in anger to what he thought was a false allegation of racism by repeating the allegation?

One was said in anger and doesn't really mean anything.

Calling someone a '****ing black ****' in anger doesn't mean anything?

Really?

The other implies that the choc ice is a traitor and that all black people should united against white people whether right or wrong.

I can agree that it's a monumentally stupid thing to say. I don't agree that it is more offensive than calling people names in anger.

I agree. And as for the lame excuse Ferdinand's come up with ... the alternative meaning of the term. How is Cole a 'fake' by giving evidence for Terry? Cole certainly identifies himself as mixed race, he's said so on several occasions.

Terry and Cole seem to be coming out best in this little game, by preserving a dignified silence (for the moment). Which galls me to have to say, because normally I think they're both idiots!

Although there is no evidence that exists that Terry actually did this.

Apart from that he admitted saying it?

He said it because he thought Anton had said "Did you call me a f****** black c***" to which Terry replied "F****** black c***?" N**head".

And that's fine to me, he was just questioning what he thought Anton had accused him of saying. It's not racist.

Why are people throwing the term racist around these days, a racist is somebody who hates people based on the colour of their skin and this is being forgotten.

I think the opposite. When people verbally lash out in anger, they usually pick on the thing that they think will upset the other person the most, whether they believe it to be true or not.

Whereas things said in cold blood are usually are the words that cut the deepest and are remembered far longer.
