Why are the media reporting John Terry as guilty?

Recommended Posts

It being a true statement does not prove that it's not a racist one. Calling someone a "useless black sod" is a racist comment unless you would call someone a "useless white sod" in an identical situation.

I'm sure some black people do call white people such names. Is it racist? I don't think so, its descriptive of the person in subject, difference is always highlighted in such a way, by the person who's in a temper..

I wonder how 'sensitive' you might be to someone aggressively calling your mother a "fu***** wh*** cu**"?

Do you think it would be counter productive having a law against that to prevent there being a breach of the peace at least?

She is :hihi:

Yes breach of the peace sounds better.

Yes you can if it results in a court case. If you want to google it I'm sure there's plenty of examples..

The insertion of the court case would make a difference but you did not stipulate this-you see the law works on precision not vagueness.

Yes, unless they would also call other black people by those names in identical situations.

Reference to the colour of somebody's skin is relevant if you are describing their appearance. In all other situations it is not relevant, and there is no reason to refer to it except for discriminatory purposes.
