HeadingNorth
The judge said there wasn't enough evidence to find Terry guilty, adding that Terry's defence was improbable but that the prosecution case wasn't strong enough to prove guilt due to not all the exchange being caught on camera. It's possible that what Terry alleged - that he was repeating Ferdinand's words back to him - is true but it's not very likely. Terry has been found not guilty but he's tarnished himself. In law, his defence is valid; no offence is committed if he is just denying having said something. Football Association rules are quite different; since he has admitted using the words, if only to deny that he had said them previously, they still might ban him for the use of racist language. HeadingNorth
A lot of people will consider him guilty, yes, but there wasn't enough evidence for a criminal conviction because of a lack of evidence. More actually; but they will be wrong. He is innocent of the charge.

Whilst I agree with you, I cannot see it, he is their little "glory boy", mud just slides off him. You know racist, popping his mates missus, charging people to go round SB, though never proved. If the FA & league had any credibility, they'd ban him, never play for his country again, but as I say he's blue eyed boy. I don't agree with abortion, but he is the strongest argument in favour of it, he has absolutely no redeeming qualities.
janie48
Regardless of whether he is innocent or guilty all the bad publicity John Terry produces can't be doing the image of the England football team much good.

I don't see the relevance personally, John Terry is an individual responsible for his own actions and though still an England international should not be seen as representative of the England football team in this case. For instance the Spanish fans are renowned for being racist but have not been deemed to have had tarnished the image of the Spanish national team, not to my knowledge anyway

That is an excellent comment :) Why what has he done? There was the seedy affair with a colleague's tart, but that happens in all walks of life. Politicians have been know to stray... I think there's a media witch hunt. He's innocent. It seems to be accused of racism is all that's needed to assume guilt. There's no justice for the innocent victims of these accusations, it seems.
