John Cofie - Sorry boss

Officialy signed now.

Happy with this lad signing on the dotted line for the season.

He may be a loan signing, which I still feel we should stay away from, but he has great potential - and I look forward to seeing him play.

Looked a bit of a drawn out completion, which appeared to be held up on Man Uniteds side, but eventually finished.

Young, quick, strong and hungry. This is kind of player we need to be picking up.

And by all accounts, it is down to the kind of football we play that he has been allowed to come to the Lane... which speaks volumes for Mr Wilson.

Man United have a really strict vetting procedure before allowing youngsters out on loan from what I have read, In the past they have been known to approach clubs and offer players on loan if they believe the benefiting club play the right style of football that would help the player progress.

I wonder whether Man United stalling has been anything to do with the stalling of Lee Williamson and Kevin McDonald? I know it might sound stupid but obviously Manchester United want us to be playing the same style of football as that we were playing last year that almost saw us promoted. Should Williamson and McDonald not sign then obviously our style may differ slightly? Wonder if Wilson has had a breakthrough in negotiations with out of contract players?

Delighted to have this lad at United, by the sounds of it he has progressed rapidly, his hold of play and his ability to read the game are meant to be some of his key qualities to go along side his blistering pace and is considered to be on the fringe of going places.

I think he's ready, let's hope he is!.

Its been reported the delay in the signing was due to the 30 page contract the Mancs sent over via fax on Monday !! 30 pages !

I remember the Mancs stoping at a hotel on the way over to play the Bassett Blades, a mate worked at the hotel and pocketed the team talk transcript of the player profiles , tactics etc of the Blades, it read like a book ! diagrams and indepth profiles, slagging off the likes of Deane, wish we had kept it, but the guy wanted it back, and was worried about his job etc.

I'd imagine the contracts of either player had nothing to do with it.
