Chromebooks yay or nay?

Im need a new laptop and just browsing and ive noticed these new chromebooks are they actually anygood? could i manage with one of these rather than a laptop? we only really use the laptop for browsing the net, uploading photo's ect.

Might be worth waiting until October to buy a new laptop if you can as Windows 8 will be released.. Might as well get the new OS pre-installed while you're at it?

Cant wait my lappy's dead so ive only got a (borrowed) netbook. Plus ive been warned off windows 8 (tho cant remember why ) plus tbh ive been happy with windows 7......im a non teccy dont like change sort of person .

You can opt in for the windows 8 upgrade if you purchase a windows 7 machine from now on anyway http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/upgrade-offer I'm not a expert on computers but a laptop at £350 with warranty cannot be too bad of a buy.
