rach_lou82
Hi, I'm just wanting to get a rough estimate of what other people have paid recently for a home alarm system to be installed. Wanting sensor on the front door and infra red sensors 3 x downstairs and 1 x upstairs. Thanks
spider1
If you want the job done propely hard wired fitted by an engineer look around £ 400. IF you want battery type d i y b and q type look at £100 . The B Q battery type are a complete waste of money you get what you pay for.
dan2802
I've fitted quite a few wireless systems and never had any problems with any of them but I do use decent quality systems.

He has fitted a lot off hard wired alarms for me and my friends over the years never had any trouble with any with any He says a lot of his buisness is replacing battery alarms to hard wire. Mine has been in 10 years no problems
dongle
I've fitted quite a few wireless systems and never had any problems with any of them but I do use decent quality systems. we have a BT fitted and monitored wireless system, the previous owner of our house had fitted by BT at a stupidly expensive cost compared to a wired system, its rubbish to be honest and we are looking at getting it replaced with a wired system. spider1
Hi . A friend of mine is an alarm engineer he says a lot of his work is taking out wirless alarms and replacing with hard wire ones. A top quality wireless is more expensive than a hard wired one. Had mine in 10 years no probs . He has done a lot for my friends and relatives no one had any trouble. Keep it simple no remotes just hard wire to mains. Alarm sets itsself when you close door .
Nickscape
our wired alarm similar to your spec was installed for roughly £350.
walkertelecoms
4 PIR's and 2 doors covered, YALE Wireless would be £350 with myself. Add £50 if you want the system to 'PHONE' you when activated. This system lets you have 20 separate devices, including smoke alarms and automatic wireless key activators.
biotechpete
Just be aware that lots of insurers are now asking for certification and maintenance on alarm systems from tradesmen enrolled in the registered installers schemes like the NSI. Can't remember what the others are called. Only a concern if you want extra money off your contents insurance. Might not be worth the extra spend.
