truman
Duplex jams are because of the duplex rollers, they must be cleaned with alcohol and if it doesn't fix it, then must be replaced as they get worn out fairly quickly. I use a product called "Platenclene" on printer rollers it cleans them and restores their grip..

In this case, they are the exact same drivers that you get from HP's website, not some special version made by Apple. It's just a feature that means you don't have to go looking for them yourself. Even if your Mac is never connected to the net, most printers will run quite happily using the open source, Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) drivers that are included with every Mac. If you have an All In One printer that scans and faxes as well, the manufacturer usually provide their own additional software with specific features on a CD in the same box that the printer came in. My Canon included a simple CD/DVD label printing application, for example. If you lose the disc or can't find the software as a download, ImageCapture and the Fax Utility included with Mac OS X do the job too.

I run Linux from a DSX87 port HDD hub and find it works perfecto
