Alcoblog Posted July 11, 2012 Share Posted July 11, 2012 Although marble looks nice and shiney, it's actually very porous (basically, it's chalk). Once it's got a stain it's stained, as whatever caused it soaks into the marble. It's possible to seal the marble to prevent this but in your case it's too late I'm afraid. I've seen this on many occasions ... once was when someone had decided to fit the marble (white) themselves and used a red marker pen on it to get spacing right.
