Attercliffe
I am not sure about Duke Street, but I tried to park in Town tonight. £1.05 for an hour but the meters do not take the "new 5p coins". They do not give change either. They do not accept 1p or 2p pieces so it is impossible to put the correct amount of money. They accept overpayment, but I doubt that they will accept underpayment. This is a scandal! Why do they not use the excess fees they have gathered over the years to invest in new machines or do the decent thing and just charge £1. My evening was ruined!! cgksheff
Parking is fairly easy around there. You can drive straight onto Duke Street from Park Square roundabout. But, you cannot drive down the bottom of Duke Street back onto the roundabout. There is a "Bus Gate". You have to drive round Bernard Street to get back down. Should be able to drive through the bus gates. We pay our taxes. I drove through the Wicker bus gate last summer coming back from Asda at Parsons Cross because I wanted to drop my partner off in town. I got a fine through but I refused to pay it on principal. It was £60 but then it went to £90 and I still refused to pay so eventually the baliffs came round and made me pay. It ended up being about £160 in the end, I nearly knocked the baliff out - robbing ****s!!

HeadingNorth
Why do they not use the excess fees they have gathered over the years to invest in new machines They are investing in new machines; about £70,000, I believe, to replace all of them, but it won't happen overnight.
