Recommended Posts

Anyone know if this will last overnight, or have we seen the worst of it? Will post my pics and video in a bit by the way.

Took this video in Graves Park a bit earlier. There's usually just a small stream here, this is absolutely mental, footpaths have transformed into torrents of water!

Under the bridge at the bottom of Fife Street is inpassable..

I turned right to go under and up onto Blackburn Road and had to turn around after going under the first bridge as it was really deep under the second..

Within the 5 minutes it took me to do a detour and get back on track to Blackburn Road, someone had attempted to go under the bridge and through the deep water and got stuck..

I walked along the don river between meadowhall and city center at 2 pm.

The don river today wil never have the same problems as in 2007. It has turned into a speedy motorway for water and handles twice the volume of water by moving way faster than it did in 2007.

Many islands, trees, and other obstacles have been removed and changed the character of the don river from slow to speedy.

Before 2007 the don river would get higher in places sometimes than it does now on an extreme day. They have done a very good job at sorting that problem in sheffield.

I really don't get how people can look at that much water at such as Fife Street, and think they can just drive through it; even if you don't know the actual road, why would you take the risk? :loopy:
