monkey104
I saw it pass my shop a month or so ago too. If you look at the top of Twentywell lane, go passed my shop (the Greengrocers) down towards the chemist and look through the passenger side window of the van parked on the pavement you'll see my old dog sat on the van seat waiting for me to go out on deliveries with him : ) He's dead now so I hope they don't change the picture : ( He was fast out bless him. alternageek
Was in Barnsley last week. It drove right past me so I should be on! They usually do everywhere once every 6 months to once a year.... They dont always use the images collected though. Depending on the quality of the images taken and weather at the time is one of the factors if theyre used or not. We were in London a few weeks ago and I might be on the next update for that area. I actually waved to the camera on 4 different occasions. I doubt it will be used as there was a festival happening at the time with just loads of metalheads walking and sweating up a massive hill. Its updated all the time, I believe the cars are given to people to drive as part of their day to day lives, there is one that lives not too far away from me. You can get hired as a driver for your area if you're lucky. http://tek-bull.com/2012/02/how-to-get-hired-for-the-google-maps-street-view-car/ Thats very cool. Didnt know that. sci fi
Am I the only person that thinks google earth and google street can be used for guiding weapons for very direct hits to any position in the UK. I can't understand why the MOD would just let this happen. It seems that we are being led by the blind. Has everyone forgotten about the history of past wars? They can do it just as well with a map and I don't think that there are that many strategic military targets on street view!

Allen
I love Google street view, you can even look at where you're going on holiday before you book it!Same here... I use street view and Google Earth all the time. Very good for checking out campsites I'm likely to visit. When seeing this house for sale on 'tinternet it was invaluable. I'd been around the whole village on street view before making the decision to drive 200 miles for a closer look. I don't see how it's an invasion of privacy...they blurr out faces, registration plates, etc.

Or, as Maryjane said [in her sig]: "never compare yourself to others, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself." :hihi:

Google Earth tried to gain access, but they were turned away.
quisquose
Pants and trousers off, I'ma get me some internet fame. There was a woman that was caught naked by the Google Streetview camera, and could be seen for the whole world to see for a day or two before her image was was put behind a pixelation shroud. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/google/google-street-view-naked-woman-094672 Why she was wandering outside her house sans clothing gawd only knows.
