cosywolf
I live nearby. People parked stupidly, and in several cases, very dangerously. Why should they not be held accountable for that? Because they were running for charity? So? Does that mean they can leave their brains at home and behave like numptys? As for Cliffhanger, they will use the lower field for parking and charge £3 per car. That is a given for most large events in the park. Doubtless some people will choose to park elsewhere. If they do so safely and considerately, I'm sure they'll be fine (not fined). If they park like jerks, they deserve the tickets. It's really very simple. cosywolf
I agree though... I'm sorry, Cyclone, I couldn't help myself I'm slightly shocked to get a positive response at all. Common sense is so often squashed under the weight of outrage on here these days.
dvp82
Does taking part in a charity event now suddenly give you a get out of jail free card when it comes to parking. Bit of a non story for me. Some people parked in a spot where they shouldn't have and they got a ticket.

Living near Graves Park, you come to expect it to be a little harder to park on the roads nearby when there's an event on, but sometimes you can't help but wonder what's wrong with people. Worst is often right next to the lights at the top of Warminster Road, where people tend to park in the most bizarre, hap-hazard way imaginable. Gerrem fined. Some people parked in a spot where they shouldn't have and they got a ticket. I've never seen anyone get a ticket for parking on pavements and grass verges on Gleedless Valley. It seems almost compulsary there. Indeed yesterday when I drove up Prince of Wales Road there were folks parked on pavements as well as on the central reservation. My thoughts on the Graves Park incident are quite simple. Dishing ot parking tickets didn't solve any problems with congestion. It wouldn't have hurt for a bit of discretion and warning notices to be put on windscreens and for the next event some no parking signs to be put on the places where cars must not be left. But if these mystical magical warning letters did exist, how would the traffic womble know if this guy hadn't had 100 warning letters before?
