rizni   10 #1 Posted June 12, 2012 Sheffield's Lord Mayor, Cllr Sylvia Dunkley, and volunteers from the British Heart Foundation (BHF) are inviting everyone from across Sheffield to join in Hearty in the Park event. This fund raising Fun run and Walk organised in partnership with Sheffield City Council provides an opportunity for the whole family to get fit, have fun and help to save lives.  Timed between the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics, it is an opportunity for all to come to gether in a spirit of hope to raise funds for the BHF's Mending Broken Heart Appeal-a groundbreaking research programme that could begin to literally 'mend broken hearts' and make medical history.  Participants from grandparents to tiny tots can enter to take part in the BRONZE (1 mile), SILVER (3 mile) or GOLD (5 mile) route, children can make their own Olympic torch and teams are encouraged to come dressed to represent one of the competing Olympic countries. Bring a picnic and enjoy some good old fashioned British entertainement. With music harking back the 1950's - and Queen's Coronation- this event offers something for everyone.  Entry fee: 10 pounds per person (aged 16+) and Kids go free if accompanied by a paying adult...  Start Time: 10.00 AM on SUNDAY 24th June 2012  Venue: At Hillsborough Park, Sheffield  How to register? rizni   10 #2 Posted June 21, 2012 Please note that the Hearty in the Park event this Sunday has been postponed. The main reason is that the weather forecast says it will be wet from now on with storms on Sunday and it is a risk we just can't take.  Thank you if you offered your help on Sunday or already registered but you will have to stay in bed now, sorry about that! -)
 Share this content via...
