Tree stumps problem

Recommended Posts

I’ve dug out a planter / rockery at the bottom of my garden which previously had 3 small trees in it which I’ve cut down.

I’m stuck with the stumps that I need to get out - does anyone have advice as to how to do this myself - or know a company that can come and do it for me?

Thanks.

If you don't want to manually chip away ait it yourself get a quote for tree stump grinding. We have had two of the three of ours done. One was too large (too pricey) for us. It has massive above ground roots so we planted around it. Its taken over a decade to get to a crumbly decayed stage.

Have a look a stumperies. They are like rockers made with upturned tree roots / stumps. I'm not suggesting you dig yours out and turn it upside down but it might give yo suggestions of planting schemes to hide it.

If you cut them down then make a cross on the remaining stump poor oil into this, the stump will take it up and kill it. Not sure how long it will take.

Yes cut to ground level . Drill top . Fill with diesel . Wait a week . Dig round it .

Make a little bonfire round it and burn it out keep putting diesel on it easiest and quickest way . If your boss get the wife to dig it out :thumbsup

Forget about rotting it out with any thing takes years

It might already be dead. If not, use proper stump and brushwood Killer if it grows back. It’s illegal to put oil etc on the garden. Doesn’t anyone have any common sense about oil etc getting into groundwater?
