nataliem85 Â Â 10 #1 Posted June 5, 2012 Hi, can anyone tell me how long do you normally have to wait for your maternity certificate to come through? The receptionist in doctors said it can take about 4 few weeks, and pharmacist said usually about 3 weeks... Ive been waiting about 8 weeks now... Is this about normal? Â Its not been a problem so far when getting a prescription as im clearly pregnant, but just wondering where it has got too! fabgirl   10 #2 Posted June 5, 2012 hi mine took about 2 weeks, I would chase it as when I was ill my hubby went to collect a prescription and they wouldn't give it him as he didn't take my card.
 Share this content via...
nataliem85 Â Â 10 #3 Posted June 5, 2012 Thanks fabgirl, ill give them a ring this week and ask them to chase it up, I just thought its typical NHS paperwork that takes weeks to process and probably delayed...
 Share this content via...
lauren84 Â Â 11 #4 Posted June 6, 2012 Mine took less than a week. I suppose its like anywhere else and if they are busy it takes longer. I think the midwife/doctor ought to issue a note for the chemist or something to cover you until you receive the card really, its not fair
 Share this content via...

Some women might end up being charged for medication when they're entitled to it for free. Ask see if they can give you a note in the meantime
 Share this content via...
