Sheffield Shamblers Walking Group-Jacobs Ladder/Edale Head - Sun 10th June

Recommended Posts

NEW WALKERS ALWAYS WELCOME

Description

This is a 8.5 mile walk, taking us roughly 5 - 5.5 hours. It starts from the main car park In Edale (which costs £5 to park - so car sharing is advisable), before taking us along some of the Pennine Way to Upper Booth. From there we climb Jacobs Ladder, which is a steep climb which will r=take us about an hour, before walking along the tops through woolpacks, Grindslow Knoll, Sheepfolds and then back onto the Pennine Way to Edale.

It takes in some wonderful Peak District views, including down into the Noe Valley, the Hope Valley and across to Mam Tor. The terrain will be well used tracks and paths, some rocky paths, and a steep roughly 1 hour climb up Jacobs Ladder.

Is it OK to bring dogs?

Yes its fine to bring dogs along, all we ask is that their owners keep them under control, and if walking through fields with cattle and sheep in then that they are kept on their leads.

Please be aware also that we may have to cross stiles, so as long as your dog can get over them or you can lift them over, your more than welcome to bring them.
