It wasnt a DOG POUND it was liable by law to take all kind of stray animals in namely Cows,Pigs,Sheep,Horses & Goats ect.then owners paid to retrieve their property.

 

Sorry my info was gleaned by conversation and I will happily defer to an expert witness,a former customer no doubt.

I wish they could turn it into something useful or at least something that people wanted. i.e. a nice pub with good beer and food. Don't suppose that will happen though, is there such a thing nowadays?

 

I agree with you 100% but with the cost of beer and the smoking ban, it would never survive. If I could talk to my Father (passed away in 1966) and I told him I was paying £2.75 for a pint he would go beserk as he complained when it went up to 1/3d around 7p now.
