[balanced / Sunday Best / Reggae Roast]

Hailing from Brighton, UK, Richie Phoe's trademark reggae productions have garnered attention from tastemakers and DJs alike. In 2008 Richie released the critically lauded Eye on the Prize EP, featuring UK Reggae legend Tippa Irie, which gained BBC radio play from Rob Da Bank, Huw Stephens, Mark Lammar and an interview on Steve Lamacq's Radio 2 show. More recently he completed big remixes for both the Reggae Roast label and dancehall star Turbulence. His first album is just around the corner and he comes to Thirsty Ear to perform with vocalist Brother Culture. Expect to hear everything from early jamaican ska, roots reggae, classic dancehall through to new releases, plus exclusive dubplate mixes which cannot be heard anywhere else.

"Richie is Brighton's Lee Scratch Perry!"- Rob Da Bank BBC Radio 1

"Phoe's music is bouncy dub at it's very best" - Huw Stephens BBC Radio 1

"Roll on the album we say." - DJ Magazine

“One of my favorite DJs and a must-have at any party” - Paul Jonas, Co-Owner of Tru Thoughts Records

Plus support from Thirsty Ear DJs playing the usual blend of funk, soul, beats, hip-hop and more.
