I live in Handsworth and Stans was worth the short treck. Will try the other one though. Anywhere other than the 'chippy' at Handsworth top. They shouldnt be allowed to call those white wappy things chips, more wet soft boiled potato things. Awful.

yeh! which is a kebab shop, not a proper chippy. :loopy:

Its a chippy that happens to sell kebabs or a kebab shop that happens to see fish and chips, Whichever way you look at it, you can get fish and chips from there so that is where people will go!

So now Stan's is gone, does anybody know a chippy in Sheff that still cooks in dripping rather than that tasteless palm oil stuff thats even worse for you than animal fat?

It's only 200 yards from Stans to a better chippy that is still open.

If Stans is the one I'm thinking about, a fish and chip shop has been there since the 1950s. I used to go there a lot. On Woodhouse Rd., near the junction with Mansfield Rd. There's a small funeral home (Fogg's I think) nearby it?
