Sheffield Wanderers Walking Group - Langsett, Sunday 3rd June

Recommended Posts

Sunday 3rd June - Langsett

This is an 8.5 mile walk taken from The Sheffield Star’s weekly walking section, where it is described as ”a moderate to demanding woodland and moorland walk, with fine views across the moors along a route once used as a pack-horse highway.” Starting from Langsett Barn the route will take us round Langsett reservoir before cutting across Hingcliff Common and along Mickledon Edge, before returning to the start via the derelict farm of ‘North America’, and the village of Upper Midhope.

Meet at Langsett Barn, on the A616 at Langsett, at 10.0 for 10.15 start. The nearest address with a postcode is Waggon & Horses, Langsett, S36 4GY which is about 300 yards before you get to the car park.

New walkers always welcome, but please e-mail sheffieldwanderers@yahoo.co.uk if you would like to join us on a walk.

Lovely walk, and mercifully in half decent weather too. We did cut it short though which was wise under the circumstances. Hope our London lasses enjoyed the experience if they're reading this.
