Freeview problem

Recommended Posts

I have a tv with built in freeview and can only get 3 channels on it. Someone told me I need a special lead to enable it to work fully. Does anyone know what the lead is and where I can get 1 from. I have phoned a digital tv and aerial specialist in my area twice and left messages but he is not getting back to me.If anyone knows someone who can help it would be much appreciated...Thanks

I have an aerial with a booster but am in an area that up till the digital changeover did not get freeview at all and even now the area is notoriously bad for reception.Looks like I will have to get the yellow pages out and find another digital specialist to come look at it unless the 1 I already tried gets back to me.

Yes I have a roof aerial with a booster plugged into my tv...I know that should be enough but as I have previously said the area is bad for reception...when it was the old analogue signal we could not get all the terrestrial channels ...to get any kind of reception we had to have sky or cable and were assured that after the changeover we would receive freeview but most of us still can not...

I'm assuming that you have tried to do an auto tune on the freeview box or on the television.

Which three channels have you got?

Have you been on a freeview coverage checker - like this one?

I recently lost channels 1-10 on my TV (using roof aerial). I've tried re-tuning to no effect. Do I assume my aerial must have moved or something??

Define recent. Would that tie in with one of the retunes - hasn't been one for a while (maybe last year) though.

Which channels were channels 1 to 10? Are those the freeview channels 1 - 10 or the presets on an old analogue tv that were set to terrestrial stations?
