shefflad   10 #2 Posted May 13, 2012 Are you in a union ? Also how long have you worked for the company?
 Share this content via...
Bludragonfly   10 #3 Posted May 13, 2012 Sorry you are in this situation.  The first thing to do is write a letter to the company and say that you wish to submit an appeal against your dismissal. Quite often this has to be within a given number of days eg 7 so you need to be quick - hand deliver tomorrow if you can  This will start the process and you don't need too much detail for this stage  You will then have time to get some help for the rest of the appeal  It might still be worth calling ACAS for some info  good luck
 Share this content via...

cgksheff   44 #7 Posted May 13, 2012 ........ but dont no on what grounds i can do so and wants to no if the evidence and points i can raise are strong enough for me to win my case or should i just not bother? ........  Couple of points that might help shorten the process:  Do you have a written contract?  Have you clearly contravened your contract?  Have they presented incontravertable evidence to support their position?  Did you have a representative/witness in your disciplinary? Spikie   10 #8 Posted May 13, 2012 hi no i am not in a union unfortunately and i have worked for the company for 6years  Find a local solicitor and ask if they do free advice. A lot give you an hour free in these circumstances, plenty enough to talk things through with them.
 Share this content via...

AbdullaJones   10 #11 Posted May 13, 2012 I once appealed after being fired. I got my job back on a technicality but i got it back so its defianatly worth trying. Id speak to a solicitor though, there are some emplyment specialists in Sheffield or CAB could help but be warned, CAB are an amazing service but busy!! And you only have a certain amount of time to appeal so a solicitor may be the best option.  Good Luck
 Share this content via...
