I think you'll find that an awful lot of Sheffielders are at a football match somewhere, and those that are left are watching the snooker :)

I'm not doing any of the above (and I wouldn't go to Meadowhall if you paid me). I'm trying to ignore the snooker, and my OH's snoring, whilst answering my backlog of emails.

The comma after 'snoring' separates it into a seperate clause.

 

For your observation to make sense the comma would not be there. It is though, therefore you're highlighting your own failure to read it correctly rather than a fault in Medusa's grammar.
