I remember some years ago whilst working on a system for an oill company for high pressure risers for the North Sea. We used an inert chemical which when mixed with water turned green. We used it to find possible leaks in the high pressure system. WHEN The test was finished, we emtied the system down the drains, much to our surprise, we turned the river trent green.
