Laptop Repair help

Recommended Posts

I've had a laptop for a few years and it worked perfectly up until a few weeks ago. It starts up fine but my keyboard does not work.

I password protected my computer so I can't log in. Some of the keys are working but are substituted for something else (i.e H=delete, Delete=unknown letter/number).

I need help from somebody as I'm currently sharing my wife's computer and can't use mine until the keys are fixed.

I live at Jordanthorpe.

Is it a bios password you've protected it with, or just a Windows password.

Just a windows password. The computerstarts fine and goes to the screen where normally i would put in my password but the keyboard won't let me type. As I said previously, only some keys work but not as they usually would.

it sounds like you have got numlock stuck on, find the key with NUMLOCK or NUM in a blue square, and press the small FN key, along with this, then try your password again...
