Black bean chili

I have made a thousand and one chilis, but without fail, they have had meat in them.

 

I'm tackling a black bean one for some veggie friends soon. Pretty much plan on doing what I would normally do yet substitute the meat for a couple of cans of black beans and a can of kidney beans.

 

Should be ok, right? Or if any veggies have any tips, that would be cool.

 

Also, who does/doesn't put chocolate in their chilis? And if so, how much and what kind?

You could just do the chilli how you usually make it, but use veggie mince instead, if you dont what to risk the bean idea. :)

When i was in Texas, they would put a bit of cocoa in the chilli, only a tad as it will become bitter! Just enough to give a hint & the onions will balance out with sweetness! 80% chocolate melted in otherwise, but go easy!
