Jim Hardie   517 #14 Posted April 29, 2012 By the way that must have been a cracking season.  It was. That was the season I started going to Hillsborough. The team was Springett, Johnson, Curtis, McAnearney, Swan, Kay, Wilkinson, Froggatt, Shiner, Fantham and Finney. No such thing as a squad or substitutes. If somebody was injured or was playing for England, the reserve came in.
 Share this content via...

CorkerSWFC Â Â 10 #18 Posted April 29, 2012 You do see strange things like this in betting every now and then, you can back the Asian line handicap at over 2.5 goals say at even money, then go to the total goals section and have over 2.5 goals and get 5/4 even though there identical bet's ??? atticus   95 #19 Posted April 29, 2012 The blades will be around the 7/4 mark to go up through the play offs. They'd have to be more like 7/1 to tempt me .
 Share this content via...
Robbie Loving   10 #20 Posted April 29, 2012 I've just seen the following odds on SKYBET and they make no sense to me. To finish second Wednesday 2/7 United 5/2  Wednesday to beat Wycombe 1/4  How can it be longer odds to win a game that guarantees automatic, than it is to get automatic.  I can't see any other bookmakers offering this market yet, but they do seem generous on Wednesday.  Promotion has 2 outcomes, go up or not. The game has 3 outcomes, win, lose or draw.  You'd expect a win to be longer odds than promotion,.
 Share this content via...
high_society   10 #21 Posted April 30, 2012 Promotion odds on WHill Owls 1/10 Blades 5/4 Huddersfield 5/2 MKD 5/2 Stevenage 7/1 Notts Cty 16/1  Anyone else think Stevenage are too big at 7/1? Still have to beat Bury last game, but if they do 7/1 will look huge.
 Share this content via...
HeadingNorth   11 #22 Posted April 30, 2012 Promotion has 2 outcomes, go up or not. The game has 3 outcomes, win, lose or draw.  You'd expect a win to be longer odds than promotion,.  You would, but it's actually shorter odds - or, as I think Titanic meant, longer odds on. These prices suggest that it's more likely that Wednesday will beat Wycombe, than it is that they will get promotion. Since it's impossible to beat Wycombe and not get promoted, there's clearly something amiss.
 Share this content via...
