Sheffield Shamblers Walking Group - Porter & Limb Valley- Sunday 6th May

This is a lovely moderate going 8 mile walk taking us roughly 4. 5 hours. Though MIss Chatterbox is offering an extension to the walk for anyone who wishes to do so making it 10- 12 miles. This walk is being run as part of Sheffield Enviroemental Week, aimed at making people aware of their enviromental surroundings.

The walk starts by the Queen Victoria Statue in Endcliffe Park, then taking us through Porter Valley, Ringinglow, the gorgeous LImb Valley, Binham Park and back to Endcliffe Park. If some people are interested in the extended walk they will break off at some point in the walk probably near lImb Valley.

The terrain will mainly be good paths, pavements, fields, tracks, woodland and could get muddy in places.

On the walk without the extension, thel ength of the walk can be anything the individual wants, there are plenty of drop out points so if you only want to do a couple of miles, then that isn't a problem.

Start time: 10:30am

Meeting point: Queen Victoria Statue entrance to Endcliffe Park, just off Hnters BAr roundabout.

Refreshments and Toilets: Endcliffe Park Cafe and Forge Dam Cafe

Parking: On street parking at hunters Bar and on Rustlings Road

Public Transport: Plenty of Buses run up Ecclesall Road.

Walk Leaders: Tiddlywink, MrsDJ, Miss Chatterbox

Additional information:

Anyone who is able to offer lifts, could they put this in their post, passengers please note that the driver may wish to join the rest of the group for a drink after the walk, so please bear this mind, thanks

Anyone joining the walk should be of a level of fitness relative to the walk being undertaken, be appropriately dressed, have suitable footwear, and have with them enough food and drink for the duration of the walk...
